My new blog!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m Moving!

Yes, it’s happened. I have a new blog which is easy to use. Forget all the silly, annoying, complicated techie bits which drove my human crazy because my new blog, hosted by Bogger, is just about 100% easier to use.

There are no funny block editor things to worry about – as I telepathically transmit to her what I want to say, she just writes it straight off, on a nice clean clear page with no extra bits and bobs and buttons to click on. And publishes it. Simples.

I shall leave this blog as it is for now in case anyone happens by and wants to see what I’ve written, but from now on, I can be found here, just a click away.

https://bosworththenorfolk.blogspot.com/

And I’ll continue posting under the title “According to Bosworth”. Well, I have a lot to say and plenty of opinions to share as well of news of what I’ve been up to.

See you there!

I’m moving

There’s been rather a lot of muttering lately from the human who feeds me and writes my blog for me, and the other human who does “School” with me. They both use WordPress for their blogs, and mine too, and it’s recently changed.

Changed in a big way too – instead of being easy and straightforward to use, it’s become a lot more difficult, clonky, techie and confusing, and it takes my human who writes this for me a whole lot longer to get a blog post together because she now has to use what’s called the Block Editor ( all fancy tech stuff with buttons and bits to click on to get anywhere with it.)

Frankly, she’s fed up with it, so she’s creating a new blog for me with Blogger because it’s easier to use and doesn’t have all the fancy techie stuff that this Block Editor (Idiot more like) thing has.

With Blogger she can just write down what I’m telepathically transmitting to her without pushing any extra buttons, or fiddling around getting something like the good old Classic Editor they’ve discontinued and ditched in favour of this new Blockhead thing. Oh she can get at the Classic one, but it’s not like it used to be and yes – there are buttons and links and fiddy bits all of which drive her doolally.

So watch this space because we’ll be moving over to my new blog soon and waving goodbye to WordPress, although I’ll leave my pearls of wisdom and thoughts on this blog for the time being so you can read some of the things I’ve been up to.

Built-in walking poles

Now I might look a bit grumpy in this picture, and that’s because I’m waiting to be let off my lead on this huge, enormous, wonderful beach. It was rather windy when this was taken too, so my hair doesn’t look at it’s best. All in all, I think I look like a grumpy windswept miseryguts, which if course I’m not.

Well, truth is I was a bit tired and a bit worked over. We – that is me with my two humans – had been walking on some very steep up and down narrow paths on the cliffs and headlands in this place called North Devon. For several days I might add. So I was tired, yes, and I was on my lead waiting to be let off, but this couldn’t happen until we’d walked past a big rock on the beach (weird rules). So when they called me and I looked at them, I wasn’t at my best.

However, I did have the edge on the humans with all this walking. They have 2 legs and have these things called walking poles to help them on the steep bits of the path. I have 4 legs and have my own built-in walking poles, so I can go at a good pace up and down and keep my balance well.

Their walking poles do the job nicely for them, my built-in ones do even better for me!

Looking at lots of Vans

I‘ve been on holiday in my van with my humans. We went to a place called Devon and did lots of walking. Across fields and on paths near the sea, up hills, down hills, up more hills, on beaches…..it was great going but I wasn’t the only one who was tired at the end of the walks. They were tired too and sometimes it seemed to take ages to get back to my van for a rest and a snooze and some chill out time.

One day we went to a place where there were lots of vans, just like mine. We were there for a long time, getting in and out of vans, looking at them, opening cupboards, rolling out the bed and lying on it (well, I didn’t lie on it, they did). It took ages and there was a whole lot of chat and talk going on too.

I don’t really know what it was all about because every one of  the vans looked pretty good to me, and I settled down in each one we went in straight away, either in the place between the seats where I travel, or at the door. It’s a good lookout position and I can check out everything that’s going on.

Well, not much did go on for a while then all of a sudden, we changed vans (again!) and went for a drive in one of them. We didn’t go very far and when we stopped I thought we’d be somewhere different. But no – we were back at the place with all the vans again. I must confess I was a bit puzzled, but everyone was friendly to me and I said one of my special “hello’s”  to the person they were talking to who seemed to know all about the vans.

At last we set off somewhere else in my van, and left all the other vans where they were.

We went to a beach and yes! I got to run on it and I even paddled in one of the big pools with rocks in it. That was delicious!

Hmmmm….then a few days later (after more walks and beaches and so on) we went back to the van place again. This time we had aother ride in another van, and we weren’t there for quite so long. But there seemed to a bit of choosing of colours and floor coverings and things. Sounded like we were probably going to get a new van because they even fetched my bed from my van to see if it fitted in ok.

Frankly, it was all a bit boring but I snoozed my way through it as I’d been there before, then we set off for home. If they do get another van I know it will be almost like my current one, and it will obviously be mine because it will feel like home, even if it is new.

All I wanted was a lie-in

P1080878

Wouldn’t you just know it? All I wanted was a nice quiet, cosy lie in and a snooze (this is me in my bed in my campervan). I’d just woken up and was emerging from my nook underneath the bed where the humans sleep, and bang! I heard one of them say something about WordPress changing their format to something called Blocks.

Uh-oh. That means it’s going to be more difficult for my human who channels me to write things for me, as it’s like a whole new flipping system to work out.

She was having a bit of  curse and grumble about this a few days later, but I’ve persuaded  her to try it out…..please….just so I can jot some of my thoughts and stuff down on my blog.

Well here it is – and WordPress, she’s not very happy because these Blocks are making her curse and swear. Please can we have the old Classic style back? Meanwhile I’m taking cover and I may eventually emerge again…..we’ll see…

I’m cool man

20200811_144241

No, I’m not advertising the particular brand of cooling coat I’m wearing, just sharing a pic of me chilling out in the midst of the heatwave, taking the air by the door to my garden and keeping cool.

I’ve been feeling pretty sluggish in this heat and The Bigs (my humans) have been very kind and left me alone in the daytime when it’s been too hot to go out far. If I wear this snazzy blue coat ( goes well with my natural colour, don’t you think?), I can walk much further without flaking out and plodding along slowly. I can also chill out more comfortably in cool places in the house and garden when I wear it, and I can settle down properly instead of keep fidgeting to find a cool spot.

The coat is wet – not sopping wet – but very damp – and it does a good job keeping me cool and helps me be a bit livelier too. That’s good, because that cat Kitty is here again, visiting and staying somewhere in the house……….and of course, you know I can never find her, search as I may.

So I’ll just cool it for now and chill.

Beach bum

P1080857 (2)

Life has been great just lately as I’ve been on lots of beaches.

First of all we had a day out in my campervan (that was before we were allowed to stay away from home in this lockdown thing) and we went to a beach. There were a lot of statues of the same person scattered about on the beach and I went to take a closer look – and sniff – at some of them, and I had a race across the sand with my human who does “School” games with me.

Then, oh bliss, a couple of weeks later we went away in my van for two nights. The campsites were open again and people could take their vans and sleep in them and have a proper few days away without having to go home. We went to a place called Wirral (sounds like “squirrel” but I didn’t see any). I’d noticed my bed was waiting in the hall to be packed so I knew we were going to stay in my van – at long last!P1080844

We had walks in the country park nearby, and on the beaches. I loved it as I met other dogs, and I found plenty of interesting things to sniff and explore and all the while I had that exciting feeling of sand between my pads.

Now we’re back at home and all I keep thinking is “When can we go again….?” Please…

Where’s that cat?

Life’s been very interesting and exciting in the past week. There’s a cat in the house!

The daughter of my humans has come to stay – something about making a bubble with my humans and all to do with this lockdown thing they’ve been having – and she’s brought Kitty with her. Kitty! Her cat who’s stayed here before. And this time she’s here for a couple of weeks! I’m determined to find her this time.

I’ve been seaching everywhere but I’ve only managed to find her once, when she was strolling across the landing. We almost met but she ran away, and I raced after her. Their daughter, who is Kitty’s owner, yelled at me and I was bit scared. She can be a bit scary if I’m naughty but she loves me really because she makes a big fuss of me most of the time.

So life goes on. There’s a cat somewhere in his house. I’m determined to find her, but I never can. I’ve even pulled the futon mattress out from under the spare bed look20180721_185452ing for her, like I did once before was I was younger, but she wasn’t there.

I’m beginning to wonder if she hides somewhere and watches me trying to find her. There are times when I’m in a room and I just know she’s there, but can I find her? Oh well, it makes a change from patrolling the borders of the garden along the new fence they had put up when I started digging my way out underneath the old one. And it’s nice to have my own cat around, because I can never get at the one who lives on the other side of that new fence.

You know I said I’d got a fan club? Well, I’ve had some letters from the girls who come to visit me and sometimes take me for a walk and groom me and play with me…..you know, the usual sort of fuss I get. Of course I love it! Now they’ve written to me as I sort of put the idea out that it would be very nice to have a guest blog post every now and then (about me, naturally), and I’m so pleased I’m nearly wagging my tail off with happiness! Thank you girls! Here’s what they say:

Tilly

l LOVE Boz because he is really cute and friendly. He always walks a funny way down the road which makes us laugh! Boz is one of the best dogs I have ever met. He always enjoys a cuddle and is normally very well behaved. It was fun when we got to groom him and we even got to brush his teeth! He seems to enjoy going on walks because his tail wags every time we see him on one!!! I really like seeing him and playing with him. His owners say that when he walks past our house he looks for us, which is really nice to hear!’

Bee

I really like Boz because when we first met him he was bit shy but after a couple of days he got fine with us being around and the next thing I knew he was licking me all over! He is sort of a blonde brown colour which I think looks cute. One of my favourite things about him is he wags his tail when he goes past our house! Boz even let us groom his fur but after it got all messy again! Once we went on a walk with him because his owners went somewhere but he didn’t want to go because it was raining. Boz has made me think I might get a norfolk terrier when I’m older! I think Boz is looking forward to us coming round again. Boz is always up for a cuddle and I am really missing him.’

I have a fan club!

P1080740

Seems like I’ve got a bit of a fan club. The human who feeds me had a message on her phone thingy saying the two girls who live nearby had just found out I’ve got this blog – and guess what? They were amazed!

Well, I know I’m pretty amazing in all sorts of ways, but these girls actually found my blog on the interwebthing, read it and liked it! I’m really chuffed (woofed!) about that. I think it was their mum who told them about it, so a big thank you to her.

The girls have been to my house to play with me a few times, and if we meet up when we’re out they take it in turns to hold my lead and take me home while their mum and my human have a chat and keep an eye on us. I like doing that because they keep on talking when we get home and the girls play with me. That’s fun.

It’s even better when they come to my house to play – but because of a thing called “lockdown” they’ve not been able to do this for a while. But they still think I’m amazing, so I can cope with that.

P1060607A long time before all this lockdown stuff, where people say hello and talk but don’t go near each other, the girls came to my house to count birds in the garden through the window. They had those binocular things to look through that makes the birds look bigger, and they wrote down all the names of the birds they’d seen, and how many of each sort there was. But they played with me a lot too, and after they’d counted birds, I stood on my grooming table while they groomed me using my brush and comb. That was lovely as they were so gentle.

I’ve sort of thought I just might have a fan club as people do seem to like me, but now I know it’s true. One of the girls drew that picture of me up at the top and I’m hoping one of my humans will frame it and hang it somewhere for everyone to see.

After all, if I’m going to have a fan club I need to have a good public image.
